Writers’ Workshop!

Hello parents,

Today we were hard at work on our first writing project of the year: La Chenille qui fait des trous. We have been using this story to guide our learning of skip counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s, as well as a review of writing modelled sentences. Today we started by disussing our Learning Goals (Les buts d’apprentissage), where we learned that our writing project will require us to write a story, following the model of The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and we will use our own counting knowledge and creativity to decide what our caterpillars eat, and in quantities that match our counting pattern. Some students enjoyed challenging themselves with more complex counting (by 3, by 6, 20, etc.), and even counting backwards! We will have these projects (and a fun little extra!) ready to show you all on Thursday for our Parents’ Night!

Attached you will also find a link to the St. Francis de Sales parish information for First Communion (that was sent home during the first week of school). Please be sure to contact the parish office ASAP with the paperwork that you can find {HERE}. Please note that this page and money are not to be returned to the school.
