Today we completed the length/distance portion of our Measurement unit with a group building challenge! We worked in groups to design and construct a structure with length parameters (and a limited supply budget!) that could withstand the mass of our stuffed animal friends. We were forced under pressure to think creatively, collaborate and test our attempts several times to create the perfect final product that checked every box on our list! In addition to our math skills at work, we also got a chance to show off our leadership skills and our ability to think quickly and calmly in the face of adversity. We reflected afterward on the skills we used, and will continue to evaluate ourselves in preparation for our upcoming Report Cards.
