Today we had our first of many visits from Mrs. Selda, our liaison from St. Francis de Sales Parish. She came to talk to us about our upcoming First Reconciliation, and she will come every week to help us to prepare! We talked about all of the blessings in our lives, and how we can use those blessings (talents, personality traits) in service to others. We then drew a picture of the "Best Version" of ourselves, putting God's blessings to work in our lives. We ended our afternoon with the Act of Contrition prayer. Thank you to all who have been rehearsing the prayer at home!

Today we also had a very brief introduction to our new Social Studies unit about Global Communities. We will be learning about cities, provinces/states, countries and continents using mapping skills. We will also be learning about how physical features (water, elevation, vegetation, latitude, etc.) affect the culture and daily life of a region's inhabitants, and how they adapt to their environments. Our upcoming Report Card will touch on what we will have completed to that point, but we will continue this unit into February. We look forward to some very fun and interesting learning coming up!
