Hello parents!

Today was a day full of shape exploration and inquiry-based learning! We are studying polygons and standard 2-D shapes this week. We are sorting and classifying shapes this week, and we will be working further on their geometric attributes (sides (côtés), vertices (sommets), size, equal sides, etc.). Today, we challenged ourselves to imagine all the possibilities of a mystery shape with four sides (côtés), as well as a mystery shape with six vertices (sommets). We pushed ourselves to think of non-standard, common shapes and think outside the box with non-standard polygons (des polygones).  The results were amazing!

Working with shapes at our Literacy Centres!

We later shared our learning on our screen with the app, Geoboard, which you can find through the App Store for practice at home.

Download the app {HERE}!
We also learned a fun Thanksgiving rhyme to kick-off our upcoming poetry unit in French. We used actions and rhythm in our chant!

Please look out for a page coming home tonight about our fundraising campaign starting tomorrow with Nestle chocolate bars. Please sign and return (or send me a message) if you would NOT like your child to participate in fundraising. You are also invited to make a simple donation in lieu of selling chocolate bars. Your child would still be included in fundraising prizes!
