Agendas:
-First Reconciliation celebration tonight at Saint Francis de Sales Parish at 7:00!
-Pizza Day tomorrow: Don't forget to bring extra snacks!

Today was our Reading Across America [Canada] day here in Room 128! We well all-out in eccentric Seuss style to celebrate the contributions of Dr. Seuss to the children's literature world! We began our day with a new-word creation and rhyming challenge! We also each had Thing 1 - 19 name tags, and we had a fun challenge of calling each other "Chose numéro____" instead of our first names. Those that slipped had to write three French rhyming words!

We also used our celebration of Dr. Seuss to introduce our non-fiction reading unit of biographies and autobiographies. We read the very interesting of Dr. Seuss (Ted Soice, actually!), and looked for key fats about his life. We also completed a Book Report about one of our favourite works of Dr. Seuss! We scoured our books for facts about the main character, and interesting facts/action throughout the story. This will help us to prepare for our work later this week with our Mr. Zinger stories!

Of course, our writing needed Truffula Tree pencils (from the story, The Lorax!)
