-Please bring a reusable water bottle tomorrow for World Water Day
Welcome back, everyone! We enjoyed a wonderful March break, and now we are ready to hit the ground running with our final quarter of the year!
Our main literacy focus in French will be writing, and we will even use this skill with our new Religion journals, to use our writing response and journaling skills in English. In French, we are working this week on writing "un récit"; a recount of our spring break activities. Our writing pieces will include:
-a creative title
-introduction sentence(s) that can express the positive or negative tone of our writing
-three events using beginning, middle and end structure (with the vocabulary transition words "d'abord", "ensuite" and "puis")
-conclusion sentence(s) that can summarize our overall spring break experience, and offer any further opinions.
Today, we began by planning our writing in drawings, to ensure that we are including all details. Next, we explained our drawings to a friend or Mme Wilson, and from there made a list ("key word dictionary") of any new or difficult words that we would need before writing in full sentences. Tomorrow, we will write our first drafts and go through the editing process, and will conclude with publishing and sharing our work on Wednesday and Thursday! Look out for your child's completed work, along with a marking rubric, on Thursday!
