Hello parents! Happy Friday!
You can find a copy of our newsletter {HERE}!
Today we had a great time celebrating our Catholic virtue of Justice at our assembly. Our December focus will be Hope, and we will work on approaching challenges with positive attitudes, and seeing the good in other people when we are in a conflict.
We have been learning about the Liturgical calendar lately, and today we made our own Liturgical Calendar Wheels. These wheels show us not only the dates and theme colours for each main season (Ordinary Time, Lent, Easter, Advent and Christmas), but we also discussed what we do in each season. For example, we use the times of Lent and Advent to prepare our hearts and minds for the celebrations of Easter and Christmas. We also learned that "Ordinary Time" is not so 'ordinary' after all! This is the exciting time when we get to independently put into practice the lessons that we have learned during the other seasons. This is our chance to 'walk the walk', so to speak, with our actions and words! You will have a chance to review our Liturgical Calendar wheels this weekend for our Learning Reflection.
We finally celebrated our creativity with a little Christmas market today! We have been learning about Christmas traditions around the world, and will be studying Strasbourg, the largest Christmas market next week. We each made holiday decorations to sell yesterday, and today it was a frenzy of buying, selling and advertising! We each had $12.00 to spend, and we had a little competition to see who could make the most profit!
