We have also changed our Prayer Centre cloth to purple, and are reading passages daily from The Life of Jesus of Nazareth.

Hello parents!

Today, we had the pleasure of meeting with Father Gervais in our classroom! We had a great time discussing how we say our prayers at home, and how we can prepare for the season of Advent coming up next week!

Starting on Tuesday, December 1st, students will be able to bring money for our Christmas Store, which will raise funds to benefit families in our school community this holiday season. Items range from one to five dollars, so have your shopping money ready!

You can find your copy of our weekly newsletter {HERE}. Have a great weekend!

Agendas:

- Popcorn day is tomorrow! Those who did not preorder will have the chance to buy (limited selections of) popcorn for $2.00
-Return picture orders (or order online)

Today we explored our concept of division (separating a large group into smaller equal groups), and of course, who doesn't love Smarties?! We each had 12 Smarties and showed:
1 group of 12
2 groups of 6
3 groups of 4 and
4 groups of 3
We discussed our findings about the relationship between the number of groups, and the size of the group (many small groups of few large groups). We will be working tomorrow on real world scenarios where the size of groups are important (quality vs quantity).

We are also excited to welcome Father Gervais into our class tomorrow for First Reconciliation preparatory class! We will be sending home a copy of our Act of Contrition prayer tomorrow!

Hello parents,

Today we received our gorgeous picture day proofs! Please disregard the original picture retake day scheduled for this week. We will let you know when we have a new date.

We worked very hard today on our reading and multiplication learning centres today, and we are also getting ready for our December reading and writing units. We will be reading with a focus on comparing and contrasting. Today we began by using a Venn diagram to track similarities and differences, and we will post pictures tomorrow of our first independent practice with comparisons!

Hello parents!

Today we began a new round of our literacy and math centres. Our focus for the week is multiplication (__ groups of ___ =___) and writing in full sentences. We will show you photos of our adventures tomorrow!

Today we also began our work with Émilie Éléphant (like the "ay" sound in day). We looked at ways to make this sound in French (é, er at the end of words: parler). We also discussed common pitfalls where we may accidentally make this sound when reading.

We began learning about Peter (St. Peter) as the leader (the "rock") upon which Jesus began his Church following. We read the story about how Simon became Peter in The Bible, and our first Pope. Read the story below!
